That being said, swapping in the Hammer bases involves pulling the gas tank, cylinder covers, rocker boxes, push rods and tubes.
If it's leaking, you're pulling that anyway.
If it's not it's a lot of work for a shiny part.

I just installed these and was surprised that the front tube has a bit of a gap because it doesn't hit the block at a perfect 90 degree angle. Got everything tightened up and it seems like it should be fine but I could see yhe front tube being a problem
