IMHO EVO engines... either for BT that for Sportsters... are till today the most reliable and charismatic engines Mo.Co had made...

That 48 anniversary sounds interesting. Also i wonder will the dyna and the softails will get the m8 motor .
I think the sportys are fine . Its easy to pick up more hp , if one wants it . At my age ,I enjoy them more every day . Also the flhs have gotten a little to pricy for me . Its sporty crowd that keeps the harley heritage going . If not Indian will pick up many customers. They are picking up the dirt track crowd .
I am old enough to remember the demise of the english brands . Bsa norton triumph were popular in the sixtys. They were small ,light and fairly powerful.
On my last trip it was dressers and more dressers. Not my thing .

Indian is slowly gaining on the MOCO. I like it, competition is good, and I can be swayed...

As long as Harley continues to make Sportsters as we know them - I'm happy.

People just aren't buying motorcycles like they were. The market is shrinking for all makes. I didn't see anything exciting in the 2018 line up. More of the same.

I'm happy that there are no significant changes to the 2018 Sportsters. I suspect that the next big engine-design changes occur in the 2021 model year when stricter Euro5 emissions requirements kick in.

Well
When a new brand creepes into the market...
For little that it gains... it always does at the expenses of the brands that on the market already there are...

Then in Europe... sadly... we won't see anymore EVOs... but only liquid cooled X REVOLUTIONs...

Likely in US you will continue to enjoy Sportsters like they are... IE air cooled... with pushrods etc...
