I replaced my clutch with the Barnett kit with extra plates and used my stock clutch spring and I have never experienced a squeal. Has been about 5 years now and clutch works great. Smooth, positive release and no slippage. I wonder why some experience that issue and others don't?

I went thru this. I have a NOS 2017 XL1200C. As delivered the clutch drug BADLY. With the bike in gear and the clutch pulled in (engine off) it was a major effort to push the bike. Neutral was next to impossble to find. I dumped the primary / transmission oil and filled with Redline 75w90NS and it got a little better. I opened the primary and replaced the grenade plate with 2 OE steels and an OE friction. Put in a 7200B release brg too. Filled it with Redline D6 ATF.
Now the clutch screeched occaisionally. As I've put some miles on it the screech has gone away and the clutch drag has decreased to normal.
No more screech, no more clutch drag, good clutch apply, Redline D6 in the primary / transmission.
Go figure.
