Default 1983 XLX--Back at it

After trying to setup forward controls that ended up being about two inches too far for me to reach (I'm 5'11") with a sprung seat, I'm looking at going back to mid-controls. Problem is there is only one style of pegs available that work with the mounts that are stock on the right side of the bike. Does anyone know the size of the threads inside the brake pivot stud and whether or not there is a foot peg mount that will fit that so I can put on a wider variety of pegs? I suspect that the thread size is the same as the support stud that threads into it but if there's enough length left in the brake pivot stud to accomplish this. If not does anyone know of another way to set up a regular style peg?
