I've put on my 2012 Sportster a WL rear fender repro, I had to cut it here and there to adapt it a little, it fits good in a +2004 frame



Now adapting a front WL fender, much work to foresee, the breadth is not the same for a mid-glide

Nice job. WL front will be a challenge. Are you going for a springer fork or use wide glide fork?

I did cut out a +/- 30 mm stripe out of the fender's centre, welded back the two halves together, to fit into the existing mid-glide, adapting and relocating the fender struts.

Still busy for the moment, no picture available

I like the old style front fender better than the bikini type.
Picked up one from a salvage place and had it painted.
It fits pretty snug on the stock size Dunlop Elites and I have to pull the fender to remove the wheel but well worth the effort.
I have to squeeze the fender bracket a little to get it between the forks.

I had to squeeze the fender a little as well, not much though. But I remembered that was also the case on the two bikes I've owned before that came standard with this type of fender.

You don't have to pull the whole fender to remove the front wheel. There's just enough room if you take out the two bolts and nuts on one side.

I have the same old style fender on my 98. I had to struggle with installing and removing a Dunlop 591 front tire, but the same size 404 fits in without a fuss. Worth the fight regardless, that stock fender is nearly worthless in the rain.

It's nice not having the fender in the way, though.
