Zenith/Bendix is still open in VA. Call for a dealer to get the part. I think the whole new carb is less than $200.

WTB. Hens teeth, rocking horse crap, or C ratio clutch gear & 4th gear for pre-70 900. Andrews or HD. Or anyone willing to do the DR DICK mod on the later gears and sell them.

Harry, I can't remember which one was used in the "C" ratio. Here, I'm guessing that's what you mean and not just a "close" ratio setup.
I am pretty sure I have an 18 and a 20 clutch gear, would have to look to see if I have the C/S gears as well.
I presume your going to race this as these aren't really good ratios for stock street bikes.
And the 20 is probably only good for places like Daytona.

Yep, close ratio.

No racing, unless I misunderstood which gears need to be changed, I only hear good things about the C ratio 4th for street use.

Please correct me, my wallet is crying in the corner.

Default Early 84 generator and starter

Gen and starter from a bike I bought a couple years ago w/ a FUBAR'd engine.

Never ran the bike, so I tested these parts with a battery.

The starter motor spins, and sounds good, and the Bendix Drive seems to work.

I "motored" the generator, using the instructions here:

http://xlforum.net/forums/showthread.php?t=559947

The generator seems to spin over under power just fine, no noises. No magic smoke coming out of it.

So, I guess both of these parts are probably good.

Starter $20, generator $40; buy the pair for $50. Each of them fits in a USPS flat rate box for $13.65 (ea), if you want both of them, or other stuff I put up here I am happy to to put them together in a box and save you something on shipping.

Best way to contact me is to text to 206-718-BILL (that's 2455 in numbers). PM me if you want; I only login here once every few weeks, and probably won't see your message until then... So, yeah, better to call or text

Thanks for looking, and have a great day

William
