If you are going to market a name, you need to go out and win something. Indian clearly know this, and you can’t get much more historic than Indian Scout.

The Electra Glide is the definitive exception, but that’s just one machine.

The Harley Street hasn’t won anything and doesn’t look like doing so, on present form. You simply can’t offer a sports-themed bike with nothing under its belt and a supposedly ruffty-tuffty, hairy-ass name; the traditionalists won’t be interested and the sports bike riders will be like, “so what?”

It’s like the Pan-Am. You MUST get out there and win Dakar, or ride the Pan-Am, or some such thing. Otherwise it’s just a bankrupt airline.
Sort of see where your coming from, but your wrong.
Honda (for instance),brought out the Pan European as the bike to cross Europe with without actually doing so before it was named. But it actually excelled doing just that.So Harley's Pan American will probably excel and do exactly as it's name suggest's.
If someone had asked me what the name "Bronx" suggested to me, i would have said "mean",or "with attitude",etc.
I'd probably draw the line at something like "Sugarpuff" or "Pansy" or even Triumphs "Dandy"?

Harley names can be evocative. Electra Glide is surely the epitome. Road King is a beauty, love the bike too.

I found several models...Sportster and Softail... doing research for the 2020 Sportster.

Matt Laidlaw from LA's Laidlaw Harley said Harley's doing things different this year.
They shipped out some 2020's models that had only paint changes before the dealer meeting on 8-19.
The "new" models (or ones with more changes) are shipped on the 20th when the official release is made.

The 'new' models, you mean the ones with new gas caps?

Only new colour schemes I seen are the silver pine/spruce green (can't make up my mind on wether I like it or not. Reminds me of the green my cousin Iain's Dodge Polara) & red/black on the Heritage Classic.(My favourite of the current Big Twins)
