Default Finished v2.0 of My Rebuild (Before and after Pic)

Took my '03 down to the frame last summer and rebuilt it. Tried to go as minimal as possible while still being legal-ish and got to add the fun stuff like a 150 rear tire, springer front end and a chain drive. Details below.

Ya. I needed something to stand out a little as there was too much black after I finished it. It adds a little meat to the motor as well as those rocker covers stick out about 3/4" but this made mounting the air cleaner and breather system a bit tricky.

I just did the math and it came out to just under $9k in parts. I got back $2k by selling off the old parts on eBay, so all in at $7000. I only paid $2500 for the bike and rode it as for a couple years without putting any cash into it. Some would say, "Why spend $7000 on an '03 Sportster? Just buy a new one." Well this one is mine. I know every inch of this bike. It only has 4 original parts, the engine (Bottom End), Frame, Oil Tank, Battery Tray. The only other HD parts other than those 4 is the gas tank and swingarm, which are new. I also replaced every nut, bolt, hose and wire. I went high end with the parts as well, but you get what you pay for.

Oh I know the drill. Spent $4500 on mine. $5k or more later it's close to what I want. Just trying figure out a 1/4 fairing that would be functional. Most of my mods were engine or suspension related with some aesthetics. Walk by new ones in the store for the same coin. But realize the engine mods mine has would bump the same amount for the new ones.

You got rid of the spoke wheels. I put spoke wheels on mine

My front wheel went out of true and I didn't want to deal with spokes anymore. Also, there is almost no chrome on my bike anymore. I think the only chrome is the crossover for the breathers and the rear sprocket, so chrome spoke wheels would look odd.
