So the first thing is that wiring diagram that you showed first is wrong.
It show the battery cable and starter relay wire going to the same place.

To the starter lug you have two wires, one from the + pos battery term
and the other to the 30 amp breaker, thinner wire.
Be careful because all the wires are black, make sure you trace both ends
before you hook them up.

Here is a better diagram.

That's perfect, thanks decman! I was like 90% sure but have since heard conflicting info on what connects to the starter lug
