Mustang Solo Vintage Review
Hello,
I figured I mind as well give something back to the forum. A little over a year ago I purchased an 2013 883 Iron. I loved the bike but that thing was hard on my butt. So after 5000 km I decided enough is enough.
I did some searching about seats and there were some reviews for several seats but almost all threads came back to say the Mustang is one of the best. So I was apprehensive but I decided to order one.
I contacted Aaron at Hammer Performance to see if he could get me one and he did. The transaction was smooth, easy and fast.
I put the seat on and went for a short ride around town. First thing I noticed was that I seemed to be a little further back on the motorcycle and it took a few minuets to get used to. (Was kind of like when someone borrows your car and adjusts the seat, things just don't seem right for a little). However I adjusted quickly to it.
Unfortunately it has been raining here for the past three weeks but I did take it out on the two nice days. Normally on the stock seat I feel a lot of pressure on my tail bone after a short period of time. (I live in northern Alberta where the roads are horrible due to all of they heavy oil traffic). Going over theses bumps and pot holes ever 50 feet was a killer. Now on this seat I do feel them but I do not feel pain in my tail bone.
The second day (which is today) I had some more time so I cruised around some more. I went on some of the roughest roads we have and intentionally bottomed out the suspension a few times. Again no pain.
Overall the quality of the seat is excellent, the material is very well pot together and I doubt I will have any concerns with it holding together over the next few years.
The seat so far is excellent, and I would strongly recommend it to anyone. It has been some very well spent money for me. I know I have not put a lot of time on it yet, but I will continue to update as I keep riding. I am hoping to do a 1,100 km road trip in a few weeks, I will post my experience about that too.
PICS (Quality is not the best, camera phone)

You think you like it now? Wait until you have it broken in. It takes about a thousand miles to fully break them in and, when you do you'll really love it.

I am exited to get to that point, just need the weather to cooperate. I don't mind the rain but the combination of cold and the rain keeps me indoors.

With rain, it's always cold.
