EBC vs Hawk brake pad comp
I just finished braking in "bedding" front and rear brake pads on the 96 xl1200.
I installed EBC F94HH pads (sintered) in the front and Hawk HMC5005 (also sintered) in the rear. Both rotors appeared to have similar wear/scoring. Both calipers were rebuilt (by me). Bike is ridden on twisty back roads with frequent braking.
The difference in bed-in was huge. With the Hawk pads in the rear, I had almost no braking action for 100 miles, modest by 200 miles and better braking than the organics by 300.
I was expecting the same from the EBC, but not so. I had immediate good breaking action (better than organic) and it only getting better after 100 miles.
Both brands of sintered pads are made in USA. I thought they might be the same manufacturer / compound but obviously not. I know front vs rear isn't a completely fair comparison, but I think it's worth sharing.

I've been using EBC brakes on various brands of motorcycle since the early 1990's and I've always had good results. I'm not a racer but for commuting in traffic and rain they were great.

I've been using EBC pads on my Ford Rangers for over 20 years. Best brake pads I've ever used.
I have a set for my front calipers ready to go, hope they are as good as most people say.

I use EBC pads on my lifted Chevy 1500 with 33 inch tires. The difference is night and day. Only pads I'll use.

Recently installed three sets of EBC sintered pads on the 2004"R". Bed in was remarkably quick and feel and progression were outstanding. Very happy with them so far, almost 2,000 miles.

You'll like the EBC's, I've been using them for years on different bikes. Never anything bad to say about them.
