76 Brake Drum Removal
I have looked all over for a thread on how to get the brake drum off on my 1976 rear wheel. Is it pressed on?
I was going to remove it to clean the wheel up while I have the back end apart.
Thanks

There are 8 small bolts, each with a tabbed lock washer, holding the brake shell onto the rear wheel.

Yes I have them off the drum. I did not know if it is just stuck to the hub or it was pressed on. I did not want to beat on it if it is pressed on.
So you think a few whacks should knock it loose?

Yes. I would use a regular hammer and a block of wood.

I agree with Mick.
The drum is not a press on affair.
I think yours is just rusted in place to the flange of the hub.
Hammer and wood with a couple whacks should remove it.

Thanks guys....It took a large hammer and a about a dozen good wacks on the wood. It was rusted to the wheel hub.
