I make the assumption that "kicking like an angry mule and pre igniting on the manifold side." means that you are at least getting spark to your cylinders. If there is a bunch of white smoke coming out of your carburetor, while your engine is running backward, then you are getting gas.
If I am making the wrong assumption then what aren't you telling us.

If that sneezing and coughing is happening, it's flooded.
If nothing is happening and you smell gas, no spark.
If nothing is happening and you don't smell gas........
And if you per chance are using resistor plugs or resistor wires, Don't.
From my personal experience with my mag bike, it doesn't like resistor anything.

If only your foot is tired, quit whining and keep kicking. Wait till you need knee surgery, then join the club.
