Love my 2003 XL1200S, put a SE 2in1 exhaust, SE 7500 ign module (big improvement) Arlenn Ness Stage 1 air cleaner assy, the best improvement was the 27 (883) cog primary belt sprocket change from the stock 29 cog (I now have an alloy 26 tooth cog Baker primary, very nice item) mine's a 49 state mdl, didn't have to even mess w/the carb, runs cool@about 180 warmed up. The bike plain hauls ass, will give rice rockets a run & huge shock when they see my taillight!

We have a few threads floating around about our "S" models and we love to share about them but this thread is for Q&A only. And those questions posted here should be posted in this thread only if they pertain strictly to the "S" model. General questions should still be posted in the appropriate thread and section. We would like to keep this thread active and stuck to the top and too much fodder will keep that from happening.

So.... How do we buy one or two of these?

Sounds like you will have to have your local dealer order it.You could always look up the number and give them a call, maybe they would sell to an indy shop as well. The worst they could say would be no.

Got your message, no problem man just a misunderstanding, I respect what you're trying to do with your "S" specific q&a. Deane

I've not tried as I have several 6.8K units "in stock". Fastest way to find out is likely to be calling them. Policies change, at best, they might take a CC or PayPal payment right then and there, at the least you will find out how they want to do it.

Lightbulb S heads = Lightning heads.

Hey ReddTigger, I know you have the "S" heads and want to change the ignition too, but you can leave your ignition alone, and just run one spark plug.... As a matter of fact, the "S" heads were developed by Buell for use on their S1 Lightning first(hense why they are called Lighting heads), anyway, the Buell version only uses one spark plug with higher compression, and produced Waaay more power than the "S" model XL's. Just something to think about.
