Default Lithium ion battery

Hello crew . Wondering what size /cranking amps lithium ion battery is good for the efi sportsters. I hear some people use the ones that are close to the stock cranking amps and some say they use the battery with a higher amount of cranking amps .I’ve personally haven’t had one yet and I’m considering using one for my next replacement . 2016 sportster iron with Hammer 1275 big bore conversion . Thanks for anyone who happens to share thoughts . I appreciate it .

I put an EarthX ETZ14C in mine. It made a dramatic improvement in how the starter works. No more push back against the starter, it's running before you can get your finger off the button.

I have a Shorai LFX24A3-BS12. Works great for me, strong cranking, took a huge weight off my external battery tray. I did buy a Shorai external BMS/tender after my last Shorai died (never a tender on it) after 5 years. I really only use it for it's BMS function at the end of a ride, then disconnect. We shall see.

EarthX have an integrated BMS (battery management system), so I think you have a broader choice of tenders, as mine is Shorai specific.

I've been very satisfied as I came from the lead/acid world and having to remove, fill and often charge my battery was a big PITA. Not to mention 14 pounds of lead on a flimsy tray held by two small bolts.

I would have bought the EarthX also if I had not already purchased the Shorai BMS/tender to try and revive my old battery.

John

All great info , I’d love to get rid of the extra weight for no other reason than just because we can so why not . So when not in use just keep it on a battery tender like I would normally do ? Is there any other info I may need as far usage compared with a normal factory battery? I’m in Ct so the bike is stored inside for the winter . They sound like very nice little upgrade and I’m pretty interested in possibly making the switch over . Just don’t want to buy something and regret it afterwards.
Thank you for you help and info guys . I’ll definitely look into the earth x as well
