My '02 Sporty gets noticed quite a lot, especially at a traffic light when someone in a cage has to roll up his windows while yacking on his phone, cracks me up every time!!:

People do that with me too. I love to blip the throttle some just to make them know I see them on the phone....hang up and drive!

That happens to me quite a bit. I attribute it to my bike having almost no identifying labels on it. I also attribute it to most folks not being able to accurately identify a Harley. Then most of the folks who can, can't identify a Sportster. I can't bad mouth those folks though since I was one of those up until 2010.

One thing I don't understand is plenty of folks compliment me on my "cafe" bike. There is a lot of different stuff going on but I don't see "cafe" in there much if at all. Just goes to show general perception of a concept.

Some folks think they can identify a Harley, but they'll 'identify' almost any heavy cruiser as a Harley.

My FIL often commented on the 'Harley' that was nearly always parked outside a particular pub that we drove past. To me it screamed Japanese Harley 'copy', probably a Suzuki, so I asked him: "What makes you think that's a Harley?". He said "I've seen the Harley badges on it".

I was very sceptical about this anyway, but also because his eyesight wasn't all that good, and I hadn't been able to decipher any badges on it, so one day (when I was alone) I stopped and got a closer look: sure enough, a Suzuki! So much for his having seen Harley badges on it.

Motorcyclists usually don't ask anything. Only a few recognize that it is a Bronson style bike, to most it is just a sportster.

However, when I park it, I usually get people walking by ask me "what bike is that?" These are not riders, just sidewalk visitors. Since it does not say "Harley" or "Sportster" and carries the duffles, people assume it must be something else. None of them remember "Then Came Bronson."

Most of us who are old enough to remember the tv show have been successful at forgetting it. I stopped watching the first time I caught him using the electric starter while he jumped on the kicker.

On the Sporty I get admiring comments pretty much every ride that someone has an oportunity to comment (did on the old one too). At gas stations, parking at the shops, from van drivers in the next lane at the lights, …

On the Street Bobs, never!

Default Sporty is a MEAN MACHINE!

I think we can all agree that Sporty is the best looking harley of them all. Especially now with the dark customs.

I don't know about you, but I personally don't like the look of other HDs. They are all so fat and look like your 'ol grand dad's bike. Old fashioned, as opposed to the retro and sleek, mean, and well, sporty look, of our sexy, sexy bikes. I always get some looks, especially in the summer, cause I wear sexy tank tops. ;]

Here we are. <3
