Hesitation came back.
While putting the new handlebars I decided to tidy up some wiring. The coil relocation kit I ised causes the signal wires to route dangerously close to the jugs. Turns out it melted theough the insulation and Im guessing this explains my problem. Such is life for the diy.

Ok so a few lessons learned. The hesitation eventually came back yet again. I ended up relocating the temp sensor too as that was starting to melt the coating on the rear jug.

I managed to trace this to the root cause. It was the coil failing to ground and wiggling. The DK customs kit I put on worked itself loose over time. It wasn't enough to notice if you grabbed ahold of it but when things warmed up it would wiggle freely and I'm assuming this was causing a bad ground. Tightened things up and man what a difference...finally!

Thanks for all the suggestions here.
