Mine is a 2007 1200C with a 4.5 gal tank. Light comes on at about 160 miles. If I fill it then it will only take about 3 gal. I usually reset on of my odometers and go another 100 miles and still keep fill up around 4 gal.

I would highly recommend NOT running EFI fuel tanks dry. That can be very hard on the electric fuel pump, which is cooled and lubricated by the fuel.

True. I don't think anyone was suggesting that.

Cripes Eric, what do you do to only get 70 miles out of a 4.5 gal tank?

I'm averaging 43.3 miles to the gallon. I started tracking my fill ups since new using an app called car costs complete. My last actual fill up was 45.4 mpg, 154 miles traveled since last fill up, 3.4 gallons used at a cost of 3.95 per gallon (Sunoco 92).

I completely ignore the idiot light. I typically refuel around 120 miles and usually put in 2.5 gals +/- a few tenths

Only had mine about 2 months, the low fuel light has averaged coming on at about 129 miles, usually takes about 3 gallons then. My average MPG has been about 45.
