would a tappet block that the bolt just turns in ( unable tighten up ) make the pushrod really tight to get out comfortably. thanks

Probably not. Especially if the tappet guide is still fully seated. Both of my exhaust pushrods always need to be levered in and out. You just need to overcome the valve spring force, it won’t (shouldn’t) break anything to remove or reinstall them. My intakes come out easily.

ok cool, doodah, it disturbs me greatly. its like there is always the need to apply a wrench after every ride. i didnt even know what a puhrod looked like till i bought this old girl. im simply reading the manual and asking questions. so most of what i do is trial and error. so if it appears im asking stupid questions its only because i genuinely havent a clue till i do the work myself. i love this bike and want to learn as much as i can. then i can fix it wherever i am on the road. thanks for your informed tips

right.i bought a repair kit for stripped out drain plug from v-twin.i'm pretty sure it's heli coil i haven't looked at it for a while.i'm hesitant to use it because i'm thinking now there would be 2 places for a leak.the seam at the bolt thread and the seam in the case at the heli-coil.
