Default Head work

I know prices can be all over the place, and a little knowledge can go a long way. I need valve guides replaced, which also involves cutting the seat. Can anyone give me an idea of what to expect on cost? There's a small local shop that can do it for me.

You really can't skimp on head work. Google some of the performance shops online and compare with your local guy. If your local shops main clientel are sears lawn mowers I'd suggest sending off.

You can also try FLO Headworks in Oceana, CA. Perry did work on my '78 heads and they turned out very well. He's trying to retire so I don't know if he's still active or not (was about 6 months ago).

That sounds like a very good price. I'll be paying a bit more than that, but still a fair price I think.
