Default Dyna s sportster timing

Hi,

883 1999

Can someone share a picture of their dyna s mounted ? This way I know if my dyna is in somewhat the correct position. Currently I am on my holiday address with my bike and I dont have a timing light nor tools to check the tdc location.

It runs very good and starts perfect but I would like to check it to be sure at least I dont burn holes in my pistons in this hot environment.

Next time I go here I will bring the necessary tools with me.

Thanks.

How did you set the timing when you installed it? BE SPECIFIC!

1999 Model - Did you revert to using a mechanical advance? The Dyna S is just a pickup coil (essentially, electronic points)...

Or do you have some other model Dyna ignition?

Here's the Sportsterpedia REF section on the Dyna-S:
http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/t...ngctl01#dyna_s

There are install instructions there along with Static Timing info...

Is it the Dual-Fire version (DS6-1) or the Single-Fire version (DS6-2)?
