I just fabricated and installed this air cleaner from some scrap I had around the shop.

The air cleaner is cool, but there’s so much more going on with that bike.

Can’t comment on the headache part, but it looks like (at least from the other side of the country) an exercise in creative engineering and hard work with the skills and tools to pull it off.

Really not much into this long on going project. All work with the exception of manual mill is performed in the garage at home. Although I do have an extensive tool collection, lathe, welders, benders, honing mach, assorted specialty tools ect, none are out of reach for the average home hobbyist (I purchase tools to support my own habits, not for money making). This particular project is mainly swap meet parts (well maybe not the Motec box and new eng internals) accumulated over the years. More so a father/son project Im doing with my 12yr old to keep him off of the vid games. Unfortunately the project gets delayed quite often as he has discovered riding (since he was 3) is much more fun.
Short list:
small 1200 stroker, siftons, c-ratio, chassis mods ect ect. Since these pics I have made the inj holders and welded them into the intakes, now starting on the 2-1 fabbed from take off newer baggers, purchased from swap meets, with the O2 bungs.
Apologies for straying from the Air cleaner post.
P.S. I did have the crank trigger wheel water jetted.
