I had been cookin' in my own fat all summer behind my screen as it's been so hot here in France, so thought i would take it off and get some cool breeze instead.
What a mistake, bloody wind noise was terrible even with ear plugs in and i was like a sail in the wind. Did not enjoy my ride one bit. It's back on now.

I have one on my Vulcan. Love it. But that has mini apes and the Sporty has tee bars. Not so sure it wouldn't look funky

A graveyard for our fellow creatures who could have co-existed with you as you enjoyed the ride. The ones in your teeth would have been good protein. I have a rule. Only kill what you eat.

The wind shield that was on the 01 when I bought it in about 2003 is still in the back bedroom where it has been for about 15 years. That is what I think of wind shields.

It's 95 degrees and humid today. The windshield is in the garage while I rode the bike to work. But 2 weeks ago on a 3,500 mile ride in all sorts of weather the windshield was on and I was very happy to have it. I like the quick disconnect windshield that gives me both options. And the temperature, weather, and distance of my ride determine if I put the windshield on or not.

I use a windshield because I'm allergic to bees... but I found I can ride longer with one too... sure it makes the bike look dumb but who cares...

I have windows on my house: They keep the bugs and weather out.
I have a windshield on my Toyota Camry: It keeps the bugs and weather out.
I have a windscreen on my Aston Martin: It keeps the bugs and weather out.
I have aero screens on my Goldwing: They deflect the wind, the rain and bugs.
I have a smoked plexiglass windscreen on my boat: It keeps my face from being pressure washed, while deflecting the wind, the rain and once again, the bugs.
I have a fairing on my Goldwing, because it matches the tupperware.

But, a Harley is all about the bugs.
The windshield is a handy place to display them.

since i had seen many of the pics of yours...
i 'm just get to the conclusion that the vast majority of bugs had left Europe to go on the other side of the Atlantic

in my country... after many hours of riding... i get some bugs on my jacket and helmet... yes... but sure not the legions that you have in America...

i think that could be due to a much bigger countryside than mine...

here in Italy seldom you rode 30 kms between two cities...
in mountain is another thing... but bugs in mountain have an hard life...

But you had to stop for lunch and how much did that cost?

Most of my riding is city or slow twisty's so a beanie and riding shades is all I need. If I was going to do a long ride I'd consider one of the low profile one's to get the wind off my chest and wear my full coverage.
