My 1970 -1978 FSM gives it at 150 ft lb, same as clutch hub nut.

Alright then, unless anyone out there in TV land has any conflicting answer, I suppose that, I too will be setting the tourque to 150 ft. Lbs. On my 1979 1000xlh. Thank you much Mr. 1Scooter!

Upload came out fuzzy
The image of the tourque specs are coming out extremely distorted/"fuzzy". At least, on my phone... is it 100-120lbs.?

You're looking for the nut torque on the front sprocket for the rear drive chain. Correct?
That spec is NOT on the page shown in post 4. It shows the sprocket shaft torque on the engine sprocket at 100 to 120 ft lbs.
The front sprocket nut torque on the rear chain (mainshaft nut) is in the manual.
35 to 65 ft lbs.
Sorry, I may be confused on what nut you're asking about. If you had said primary chain or rear drive chain it would be more clear.

gear shaft 100-120
sprocket nut 100-120
crank pin 150-175cyl head 55-65
cyl base 25-35
These are FT/Lbs

I am no expert but will stick my oar in here
"sprocket nut 100-120" I'm taking this to be the front sprocket on the primary chain
The nut holding the front sprocket (countershaft) on my '81 driving the chain to the rear wheel sprocket is not very wide, I would not want to put 100/120 ft lbs onto it
I think 35/65 ft lbs is more in line with the hardware

Neither would I.
It still isn't clear what nut we're talking about.

I also agree on the 35-65 ft/lb figure for the transmission output sprocket (rear drive) and 100-120 ft/lb on the engine sprocket - front drive inside the primary.
