simple wiring - need help!
Hello All,
Please see the attachment, should I run wires from keys witch to fuse box to power wires? I am confuse on how I need to tie the power wires (Lights, Brake Switch, Coil/Ign, regulator and starter) to the battery/keyswitch for power.
I am using lowbrow water proof switch.
Thank you!

You should really have a Factory Service Manual with schematics to rewire the bike... However, see this post:
http://xlforum.net/forums/s...46&postcount=5
It shows the relationship of the connections...
1) Notice that the Battery/Starter are on one side of the main fuse and the Alternator/regulator are on the other side... This is intended to protect the battery from catastrophic failure if the alternator/regulator should short to ground...
2) The keyswitch feeds ALL of the individual Fused Circuits - The accessory circuit typically is separately fed to allow the 4-way flashers to function without the rest of the lights being active - If you don't need that function, the Accessory circuit can be fed in parallel with the rest of the fused circuits...
3) Typically, the ignition fuse feeds the Run/Stop Switch, which then feeds (or kills) power to the Ignition Control Module and the Coil... In your case, it looks like it would simply have a hot circuit whenever the keyswitch was on...
