Default Arlen Ness Big Sucker Stage 1 Air filter

Hello
I can buy Big Sucker Stage 1 but guy who selling it says he couldnt tune it up easly for himself. He said bike needed some time to drop rpms to idle after ride (~30 secs). Will I be able to tune it properly with DynoJet PowerVision or maybe without professional dyno it will be useless? I dont know what tuner he had but for sure it wasnt PV.
Exhaust: V&H slip ons with quiet buffles
Regards

Does your Power Vision come with some tunes? I would think that to pick a tune that has similar set up to what you have ( pipes and A/C ) and than run auto -tune.
Have you used the Power Vision on you bike with the pipes you have on at the moment? When i first purchased the PV i ran the ' modified stock tune' (tune came with the power vision). At this time my bike was all stock except a/c and the bike ran very well with that tune.

I've got the ANBS Stage 1 on my '09. Had one on my carbed '04 also. Had no tuning issues on either The only thing I did on the carb was to put a 45 primary jet in. The fuel injected '09 has stock mufflers with a set of lower restriction baffles installed, along with the ANBS. There are no other mods to the engine & it has run just fine for 120,000 miles. Gets between 45 & 50 mpg, depending, & will top 110 mph, if that's important. I also have an external crankcase breather fitted.

Bikeaholic Yes I have predefined tunes and im already using 'improved stock tune" for stock air filter and v&h slip ons and bike runs well.
But im worrying if ill buy that air filter nad i will be unable to tune it properly.
Maybe someone had symilar issues with hight rpms on idle and also DTC's?
Regards

A high flow air filter will not make it untunable.

I avoid injection but I'm sure the idle is adjustable separate of the tuner.

What pipes are on the bike?

The slow drop to idle speed sounds like a gummed up IAC (idle air control, #6 in the diagram) valve, had that problem on my own bike and a shot of throttle body cleaner fixed it. The AC change in itself won't affect idle speed, that is programmed into the ECU (but can be changed) and controlled by the IAC. The video below (not mine) covers IAC cleaning.

What Bluto says is correct. I should have thought of this and other things in my first reply however i think the many night shifts i do have made me dumber.
I had actualy replaced the IAC years ago on my bike as i had many idle problems.( high revs when comming to stop etc ) When i took the original IAC off to further inspect the spindle fell out and i could not rescrew spindle back into the fitting.
I also adjusted idles rpm and at what heat range the idle is set with the PV. If your is ok now i would think a change in a/c should not affect rpm.

I suppose you could always experiment by removing your oem a/c and idling your bike? The arlen ness a/c should give you less constriction with air flow and this experiment just takes it a bit further?

@BKB
Thatnks for that info!

@wedge
Pipes: v&h straightshots hs slip ons with quiet baffles

@Bluto
Yeah but guy says he replaced IAC with no effect and DTC present.
When returned to stock A/C - had no issues.
And thx for the video.

@Bikeaholic
I have checked idle RPMs via PV and was correct.
Its an idea to remove A/C to check the idle behavior.

For now its looks like its should works like a harm.
