What about changing internal gear ratios per gear to match the power band of the engine? I would like to play around with that someday. Im also really curious about the Baker 6. Don't seem to be anybody that likes them that much. If I had the cash I would try one out just to satisfy my curiosity.

Stock 883 gearing, besides the Johnson gear or 6 speed I think you’re wasting time and money. Even the later two I wouldn’t buy because of the cost. Take that money for your trans or primary gearing and buy more hp. I’ve spent many of hours riding 90mph and drag racing with 883 gearing.

You could always chain drive it. Front sprockets are 35 bucks, rears are 50-60. Then you have a ton of options.
