Question Thunderstorm pistons in xl??

Does anyone know if wiseco k1700 (Buell thunderstorm) pistons will clear the oil squirters in a 04 xl1200? I want the angled squish band but it seems the only other pistons that have it are for the 1250/1275 kits and I don't wanna buy new jugs.

You might ask the folks at Hammer Performance, they probably know. Maybe you can just buy the pistons through them and make it worth their time to help you. I'm sure they have access to many piston manufacturers. They might even have a "canned" solution to what you want to do.

I would think if those pistons are used in 2004 and up Buell's, that they would likely work, given the shared (?) engine cases? But, do not take my advice on this. Call Hammer.

John

Or contact Wiseco. Their website says: Need assistance? Call us! 1-800-321-1364.

But they're not listed as working in '04's, only '03 and earlier which may be because of the squirters or may be because '04 heads have flat squish areas, or both.
