What Year Engine?
Top or bottom bolt?
There may be clearance on the Derby Cover for a larger size bolt - Drill & rethread a larger hole in the Primary Cover.
I suppose a timesert in the Primary Cover would also work to keep the same bolt size.
If the cover's off, I would think an aluminum weld in the hole & redrill-retap.
Or, an aluminum repair compound (J-B Weld) done carefully might work. Drill & ReThread, of course.
That cover has a quad-ring seal & does not require much torque on the bolts.

I make my own timeserts/threadserts. Derby cover bolt is 1/4 -20 allen bolt.
I drill out stripped hole to tap for 5/6 bolt.
Bolt gets cut and threaded through center for 1/4 -20 threads.
I slot the bolt with a hacksaw. Screw it in with red loctite so it never comes out.
I replaced the aluminum threads with steel ones now.
Reassemble and forget about it.
Not easy fix. But a good fix.

Have you stripped the thread in the hole or rounded out the torx or Allen head?

That's what Helicoils are used for. They're the best fix and easy to install.

Is the primary cover off the bike?
I don't know how thick the cover is at those holes.
If still on the bike, be sure the installing bar (at the bottom of the helicoil) does not drop into the primary cavity.
Also be sure the helicoil itself is very secure in place and does not work its way out of the prmary cover and into the cavity.
The timeserts have a lip to prevent that possibility.

Not a 'Sportster S - Revolution Max', but not sure what it is. Moving to Sportster General Discussion.

super plus 1 mr. relax
best to use a insert than the original base material, been there done that. on cases, i recommend a coil type and not the solid types, reason is the coil can be removed if needed, the solid types with pin lock is not.
