Never have I dismounted any motorcycle and exclaimed “man that sucked!”. Just some were better than others, none were ever worse than any car. Even the Briggs and Stratton versions of our youth. How many smiles did those road apples generate??

Or the Honda mini-trail.

Probably the most fun of my life, every day after school

Tecumseh 3 1/2 hp no suspension. So what!

I love my Roadster, but technology does move on. If a new bike makes more power and is more reliable and handles better, then I don't see a problem. If my next motorcycle has to be water cooled, then I'll ride a water cooled motorcycle.

After all, ANY motorcycle is better than no motorcycle.

So, in general there's little reason to stay with Harley-Davidson.

I like Knuckleheads, but I don't own one because they're nowhere near as reliable as my Roadster and they require a shitload more maintenance to keep running.

It was a demo ride that sold me on some bikes and stopped me from getting others. I won't badmouth a new design until I've actually ridden one.
I'm not badmouthing anything either. I can't find where I did in my above quotation.

I do feel I probably should have written "IF Harley is offering a type of bike which is made...etc..."
The picture only shows a mockup, therefore your questions if I seen one or if I took a Demo ride do not apply.

My statement stays: If they ever produce a bike this ugly with the same specifications and engine design like any other brand, Asian or European, there's no point for me to stay with the Harley-Davidson brand. It might just be a bad copy of what already exist and proven it's reliability.

Here above asked:

You don't have to wait for that. There are already new bikes on the market FOR YEARS that makes more power, are more reliable and handles better than what you are riding right now. What are you waiting for?

Good one! Years ago some younger rider, who rode rice told me, 'try and catch me'. That's not the point; {If I have to explain, you wouldn't understand} I ride Harleys because they're American.

I once engaged in a conversation wither a youngster,(on a crotch rocket), while sitting on the porch of the Tail of the Dragon motel. He was pretty into himself and a bit of a pain. I offered up a "real" race title for title for the first one to leave here and arrive at the buoy marker at the south end of Key West. He declined and got a bit quieter afterwards. We may not be the fastest but there are many types of races out there, just saying.

I've done many, many 1,000 mile rides over the last 60 years. Some certified. I had no qualms with what I proposed especially with someone that was old enough to be a grandson, and had trailered his bike to N. Carolina from Viginia. Most young snot nosed kids seldom do more than a tank or two on a run and may never burn up extended miles.

I have (0) interest in riding more than 5-10 miles in one steady shot. I'm not saying 'I'm right and tourers are wrong' I'm just saying bombing around city streets on my 1200C flips my switch and much more than 10-15mins w/out shifting or braking seems like a snoozefest to me. Seeing our beautiful country from an Amtrak seat is my idea of vacation.
