1983 IronHead Sturgis low: Cellar find
Recently came across this IH sitting in a cellar for the last 15 years.
I don’t know much about IH’s but have been thinking about buying this to build a stripped down around town scooter.
This is a complete bike and have no idea what to offer the owner? Motor is not seized and everything is there and it powers right up with a good battery and the electrical stuff all works. Hit the starter button and she turned right over. The tank was drained before it went in to the cellar so I didn’t expect it to start.
So IH wizards, any idea what she’s worth?

That’s not an ironhead. That is an FX something, a shovelhead.

Told you I knew nothing about Iron Heads. So I just check it’s paperwork and it is a 1983 FXSB Sturgis Lowrider.
Thanks.

Should be rear belt drive if it is a Sturgis. Along with a few other Sturgis only bits.
Primary belt drive, orange stripe wheels, black headlamp eyebrow, Sturgis badges.
3k would be a pretty sweet deal if it truly is a low mileage runner. To some it’s actually a collector.

Nevermind the model, but a solid running shovelhead alone would be a nice deal. All electrics to include lights and horn work, and it fired right up? Got a title (non salvage) That's a $6K bike all day long...

Bikes got all the correct sturgis bling and is 100% stock expect for the mustang seat.
The bike belonged to the girl friend of a mate of mine and she just pasted away.
I’m going to change all the fluids and clean it up for him. From what I’ve been reading this bike in the shape that it is in, is a 10k+ bike to a collector.
I’d rather find a IH for my next project so I’m going just help him get this in concourse condition.
Thanks for the feedback guys.

That bike may be worth more in original condition!
