Unfortunately those rings are a direct replacement for the stock factory rings with a one piece cast iron oil ring.

The picture shows a 3 piece ring, I wondered about that...

One piece oil rings break way too easy.... If I have a choice, I am going the other direction even if they are marked up with a crazy price

The shipping might be more than the rings, so not much to loose.

But silly me, I'd run the old rings, unless they got borked.

Often the rings will out last the pistons. If there is nothing wrong with the cylinders the rings are good. If the rings are worn out the cylinders are more than likely fuxored.

I won't replace tested good parts as it introduces potential failures, causes more wear (break-in), and wastes money. And I'm a cheap bastard, even if I am spending your money. I'll spend that money for you somewhere else that makes a real difference.

I see guys dump thousands of dollars into a motor but have 4 year old tires and junk shocks or still run points ignition.

I have new S&S 4 and 5/8 stroker pistons and no rings.
