Default EFI fuel tank hose fail

Working on cleaning up the tank, pump system and injectors after sitting with lots of rust. Finally ready to start going back together and now find the tank hose has failed at the tight bend near the tag. The hose is very soft, and my spray needle would not go thru that section....obviously the inner liner has failed. Check yours by feel for soft and different than the remainder of the line....easy to do. Would have hoped that HD would have changed this and added a 45 at that manifold end so it would clear the frame before bending to the tank.....but.

Would normally agree, but you cannot see anything on this line unless you bend it into a tight knot....I could not see anything wrong, but the cleaner straw would not go thru the line.....got me goin.

Do you think a tank lift would help or just cause a new set of issues?

Good question, but I think the problem is that there is little room between the frame tube and the line causing the bend. The hose then wraps around to the tank....so would prob not help things.
