Nice bike Patrick! STD bore! Some good parts on that one.
Not XLB, but there are a few of what seem to be XLA parts on eBay now, NOS in olive drab paint. Seller animalhouse.

Can you put a link, Simon? I can't find seller...
Otherwise, plodding through the bike... Front end revisited with repro gaiters and skimmed brake shoes, new main loom done, started on the Buco bags, rear wheel swapped from 16" to 18" (I also have alloy rims in the rafters, but will do that much much later)...
Plan is to get the bike going 1st, then swap bad/wrong bits as I go along...
Patrick

You need a keyword to search on.
I don't think he listed the parts as XLB. Maybe under K Model ?
(I've bought stuff from these guys over the years.)

Hi,
More discoveries yesterday... Tried to get the gear box out and it would not bulge... Checked the primary and discovered an unknown spacer between chain adjuster and case, so obviously, std chain adjuster that was never changed until 1977 means someone at the eng. dept. or foundry forgot the new primary was offset for the starter ring gear, so quick fix had to be made... Good news is tranny has the later post 72 selector fitted, so I will just clean the lot and reassemble as is.
Checked the parts book, can't find the spacer there, but for "early 67 XLH", the adjuster shoe screws are ref 4354, 1"3/8 long rather than the std ref 4300 screw, 7/8 long, so not a bodge...
By the way, belly is the rare code 6 rather than code 7...
Bye for now, Patrick
