when hd removed the trap door, a lot of things like sportgear went to the wayside. the whole reason i will not buy a new sportster. totally insane to tear down a perfectly good running engine for tranny work and it better be done right the first time or you will be doing it again.

Was talking to a shop and they mentioned someone got a baker setup and actually did a 6 speed in that model year.

I’m still waiting to hear back from baker who the parts built from a 3rd party so can call the other company and have some one offs built.
