My notification to get gas is when I have to switch to reserve. Although my Vulcan does have a gas gauge and its pretty useful.

I use the mileage of my trip meter 000 at refill = 120 MOAR gas has a Yam XS1100 with
a gas light it would come on about 3 miles before it was sucking air

Default get a new sensor for low fuel light staying on

I purchased a 2010 Iron that sat for 8 years...had 28 miles on it when I purchased it for $4000 from a millennial who rode this bike home and there it sat. After getting it going...which I did remove the tank and dump the old fuel. My light shortly started to stay on after putting a few hundred miles on it. I tried a fuel conditioner and injection clearer and it didn't help. I purchased the sensor and this other resistor....which I didn't need...it's probably not the resistor save your money...just get the sensor....you don't even really need the gasket which was expensive...my gasket was fine even though I purchased a new one. It was really easy to replace the sensor....don't have the dealer do it. My light only comes on when it should now. It's probably the ethanol that is ruining these sensors...so expect this to happen again.
