So it hasn’t ran since that last ride where it died after I really gave er. Got the new coil and spark plug wires in and she still won’t start. Battery keeps getting drained from trying to start it. I bought new points and condenser but they won’t get here til this week sometime.
Also sounds like I need a new bendix gear because my starter will only give one or two cranks, when it decides to catch that is. It won’t catch on every try. Pulled the starter to see if it was spinning the right way. It spun CCW (if you’re looking from clutch/left side of bike).

I might have received a bad coil. It’s not reading on either port and even when I try to get a spark nothing happens.

Odds of receiving a bad coil is maybe 1 in 200. I'd test it with a meter before assuming it's bad. The way you describe your battery draining and now not having any spark leads me to think you have a dead short in one or both of the wires that hook up to the coil. I would open up the harnesses and follow these wires and see if there are any breaks or scorch marks or corrosion on them. Hope this helped.

I did test it with a meter and got nothing, I know the Plug wires are good.

I’m really lost... was told you can check the coil by turning the bike on and opening the points and seeing if it’ll spark in the gap. I tried and it sparked so the coil must be good right?

Well after posting that last comment I thought I’d go back out and keep trying. Well idk what but she decided to fire up this time. Took her around the block and everything seems to be running smooth( for now). Thanks all that replied!
