So finally got it running or should I say my man Ed ( 72 Ironhead XLH) tore out the Elec Ign which come to find out after doing all the tests ya guys suggested half of my coil was bad..so had a points kit on the shelf from J&P which is a bit cheesy but will do for now..Ed installed while I watched to learn after the prime kicks first kick fires up...now to gefthe bugs out

Micky, just remember your a bit on the advanced side so when you get the new points call me . If your going to give it a quick ride, loosen the 2 studs that hold the plate and turn it CCW a bit BEFORE YOU RIDE IT

How many kicks did you need and what about the choke lever?

Ok...will do...after 2 prime kicks...the 2nd kick fires it up...after that got it idling to warm it up n kicked over on tje 2nd kick...did that about 4 times...n didnt look up fhe choke situation but when tje lever is down the choke is on I'm almost positive..Ill ask the forum now

Remind me, we’re talking mikuni, right? Lever down is enrichener (choke is technically incorrect!) on, and up shuts it off.
