Default Modify Passenger Backrest to dRider Backrest

1st Post here , So i have stock 99 sporty ok and cant find seat i want with Backrest , So im lookn er over and have pass Backrest ( lil sis bar and side plates) Q is why cant i spin the whole set up around , make side plates bolt in and flip Pad around ,making me a backrest i want , Q. Has anyone tryd this , im waitn on some other parts to try this cheaper way of getn me a backrest , allowing me to use seat thats there , last option is ill weld up a side plate to adapt sissybar n pad.

I've seen others put a bag between the sissybar and rider to create the rider backrest - A bag designed to mount to a full-size sissybar could be turned around to sit between the sissybar & rider...

In fact, there's a roll bag that includes a backrest:

Hey IXL thats an idea , my thing than is , well look at rider in pic , he cant leanback with his stock bars , as i have , so im also setn scoot up with some riser or bars that pull back enough so that my hands are now behind my knees in verticle sequence , that way i can lean back and keep the lumbar spine happy

LH61, no problem with doing exactly as you said in your first post. I have rider backrests set up on both my bikes, both made from ex pillion backrests and both mounted from welded brackets from the side rails. Works a treat.
