The HD Type E I had tested is part number 62600026.

That is the part number in the instructions for the SE Adjustable forks, yes part number 45400176.
The date code on my bottle is 0872602768, I picked it up from my dealer about 3 weeks ago.

Just for thought, I wonder if the black lower forks might run at a higher temperature on a sunny day.
I know my oil temp in the tank will rise to almost 100 F just sitting in the sun on a 60F day.

Sorry, a poorly constructed sentence; I was just checking that you were installing the
SE adjustable internals 45400176..........that require type E fluid.

I don't know how much difference the fork colour will make. I would have thought
that those effects would be less important than VI on the damping. The forks have
more metal to act as a heat soak and probably more effective cooling that the shocks.

Mentioned because some people say to use ATF in HD forks.
I too saw that some folks recommended (or at least mentioned) using ATF for fork oil...

Pursuing frugality for a lifetime, I decided to try using BrandX ATF when I changed my fork springs to progressives on my '94... Since I'm not a suspension connoisseur, I found the functionality to be 'Good Enough' by my estimation for the way I ride... As to temps, I typically ride a little when the temps are 40-55°, but mostly between 60° to 90°F...
