well i'm back.spent 2 1/2 weeks in a coma, woke up in a real shitty rehab kern hospital in south Bakersfield.a few days to wake up and realizing how bad this place was spent a week and a half there total.friend picked me up and spent about a week at home on the couch, eating, sleeping and watchin tv,neighbors and friends helpin and checking on me.dident even check the bike in the garage(friend lou got it out of impound,550.00 2 days).after walking a bit, looking at the bike, making,i started standing in the garage, taking parts off the race bike, ebay is the best for other parts after 2 weeks home I fired it up.woo hoo, music to my ears.took a 20 mile ride the next day up the hill to wooford heights to see my good friend roger gates and his wife.he was postin my 4 times death accident on competition plus which was picked up yellowbullet.com my favorite website.l.t.started a shaky dave thread,14 pages, check out those pages.trash or be trashed on the bullet and the first page on comp plus.been out of the hospital now for a little over 2 months.i'll finish it up tomarrow if my brain damage lets me

You had a stroke while you were riding? OMG, what a horrible thing to happen. I hope you get plenty of rest and rehab for your injuries. I don't have any spare parts, but I wish you all the best. Were you riding up along the Kern River? Such a beautiful area, been there several times flyfishing.

John

My cousin's husband had a stroke while riding. Crashed hard, splitting his helmet open, resulting in the medics not realizing he'd had a stroke which caused the crash. He was 70 at the time of the stroke & it took him about 5 years, but he's made a nearly full recovery. There is hope. Keep at it. If you're already working & riding, after a few months, you're doing well. Heck, it took me 4 months to get back to riding & all I got from my crash was a half dozen broken bones & a punctured lung.
