toejam, yeah I knew something was loose as I could feel it in rear like swingarm engine mount area and got around to it finally. one bolt loose frame to motor mount. helped. hopper, yes I had some old rubber ones I put in and ordered some new ones. came in package that said rubber but sure felt like urethane. couldn't sink my thumbnail into it at all. right now I have the softer of my urethanes on top and a worn out rubber on the bottom. I will try j&p to see if their advertised rubber ones are really rubber. what I did do was drive a freeze plug into handlebar till where it indents for switch wires each side. then filled it with lead picked from rifle range. shot would have been better but next time. I put sand in to fill voids and tapped it to settle. capped bar end with another freeze plug. noticeable improvement. worth doing. 22 mm freeze plugs are perfect fit. 7/8 too big. 22 mm hard to find. you will have to order them somewhere. I had to buy a box of 25 on ebay.
