Default Switch controls.

Hello Ironheads, what switches have people updated to on their ironheads ? So you don't have to hold the blinker switch on when turning.

Here's the Sportsterpedia EVO section on Turn Signals:
http://sportsterpedia.com/doku.php/t...3#turn_signals

And this post:
http://xlforum.net/forums/showpost.p...9&postcount=32

The 1986-1990 circuit diagram would apply to IH models as well (except for the front running lights)...

ClickOn - ClickOff, locking switches were used on 1986 models ONLY - From 1991-later, the self-cancelling TS module allowed the momentary TS switches to start & stop the flashing function without holding down the button...

If you implement an aftermarket TS unit, you can get the same functionality with your existing switches... Some rewiring of the exisiting TS circuit would be required...

Get a Badlands self canceling black box. Wires into your existing turn signal wires.

they make time adjustable relays which is probably what the badlands unit is. i am familiar with hand signals but the old books just used the left arm. you must be referring to both arms up and middle finger extended for a hail mary salute for the driver that cut you off.
most cagers recognize that one but the others, probably think you are having a spastic fit.

The pre-1991 TS switches are wired differently into the blinker unit than the 1991-later switches, even though both are momentary-contact... See the SP diagrams...

me too,no turn signals in 1960.holding the turn signal button on until you turn doesn't sound like much of an improvement.a distraction for sure.it's dangerous enough trying to make a turn in oncoming traffic, without trying to hold a button in.

I understand that Honda Shadow and Kawasaki Vucan use 25mm bars. This is my plan for better switch gear..
