Cool brake caliper spacing

i have made some widend tripple trees have spaced out the front wheel and have a 9mm gap at my front brake caliper ! is it safe to put spacers in or do i need to thicken the wheel hub disc spacer 9mm more?

Exactly where are you measuring from? Pics would help.

In general you don't want to put spacers in the caliper to fork mount because of the instability it might add the the caliper mount.

You want to space the brake rotor out to meet the caliper.

BTW, Vulcan makes spacers at a decent price.

cheers decman i thought as much, its a new disc spacer and i didnt really want to make a new one!! but such is life!! thanks mate!

If it's only 9mm spacer then you can go for it, I have never had problems with them.
Just use stainless steel or steel instead of aluminium. Also make them as big O.D. as possible and don't drill the holes for bolts too big.
I've seen problems with longer spacers but they were like 25-30 mm long.
