Just curious how a 69 xlch can have electric start. Left case changed to xlh. If so what is the s/nshow? Thanks Bob

You're right - it got registered XLCH but is an XLH (I just checked the numbers again). It's been so long I forgot. Can't switch the thread title? Gonna start again

PS. For anyone interested - GASBOX are just running a sign up for the high pipe, will be welded next week and polished ready in 2 weeks ... spec OEM. Then they've said going to do an electric start version after. Great news!!!

Check out FirePower Featherweight Lithium batteries. I have one on my 69 XLH stroker and it works like a charm. It's small. I built a battery tray for it to reside that is mounted below the swingarm off the rear of the frame just in front of the rear tire.

Cheers Ric, great I'll check those out. Just been reading 3hours of XL forum posts on O-ring vs bands, vs put them all on ... need to order more clamps and might be able to mount the carb sometime next week ... not as easy as I figured :-)

If your heads and manifold are O-ring I suggest staying with the O-ring not the band. If heads and manifold are aligned and sized properly O-rings with good quality clamps work just fine. Some people will install manifold, o-rings, and tape prior to clamp. Not necessary. Bands work great on heads and manifold designed for bands.
