Side mounted speedo will get him in trouble with the cops, they're really strict. Risers (I like joker machine's 4 inch) I'd have to change the top bracket of the forks because the risers are "built-in" on 48's so it gets expensive quite fast. I could do extensions but that doesn't fix the speedo issue. I'd like to keep stock wiring because this is become a 10-11k project. Z bars maybe?

With forward controls I think the Mini Apes cannot be beat for comfort.

Yup.... and my back is complaining a lot!! like someone said... I look like a "half open knife"!!

So, I am changing the seat to a solo with springs and the Drag Bar to a 17" Ape-Hanger! I am quite sure I will be more comfi.

Ive built lots of bikes for customers and all say different things, it realy depends on the person's posture as to how comfortable a seating position is, its personal, so if it works for you its right,,,one note tho, i have had many a person change from sprung seat to fixed on a bike with suspension, as the springs on the seat bottom out and Bang your arse bad over just a small bump, so make sure your springs are tough enough for your weight

on mine I fabed up a simple clamp for my hinge at the front of the seat and the rear of the seat just sit on two little pieces of felt on the frame, and two rubber grommets one on the frame cross member and one on the rear fender, dont have any pics of the inner works, but I do have pics of how she sits on the bike.

Forward controls put all your body weight on your seat, mid controls support your legs and allow you to flex your posture.

Same with bars. My XL had drag bars and short shocks when I got it. Now it has 13” shocks and XLX61 bars turned back slightly, and the comfort is much better. It’s not a touring bike but I did 120 miles on it last Sunday.
