Default I guess I'm back

Well folks, as some of you know, and some of you don't, after all of my crashing and injuries last year, I had traded my Sportster for a 5.0 Mustang and put my 2 wheel days behind me... At least I thought I had.

The last few weeks, I've really had the itch to go for a ride, so I talked to myself, and I talked to my marriage counselor (Mrs Gravydog) and realized that the only logical solution was to get another bike.

So I also spoke with my financial advisor (Mrs Gravydog) and was given a small budget to make such a purchase. Now, with limited funds I soon realized I could choose from almost any metric bike, I was finding some very nice Honda Shadows, and would have money left over, but I really wanted a Sportster.

Actually, I really wanted another Roadster. Actually, I really wanted MY Roadster back, but that wasn't going to happen. So I kept looking, day after day, I would see a Sporty listed for a price I could afford, but it would be sold when I called or messaged about it, or the person would never respond, these things sell quickly when their cheap.

So, I kept looking, finally I found a 2005, 1200 Roadster, 18k, looks a little rough around the edges, but I like projects. It was at the top of my budget, but it was still for sale and the guy even responded right away. So I got a portable burnout box from U-haul and drove 2 hours on a rain storm and brought this home. It looked black in the ad pictures, but it's a dark Charcoal grey. I don't like the color at all.

I'm going through it mechanically now, the carb was all gunked up, it needs some brakes and just a lot of cleaning. That big sissy bar had to go, the seat was of off a bike with the bigger tank, but I still had the stock one from the other Roadster.

Here it is.

You should have known better than to get rid of the old Roadster.... that'll teach ya not to think about riding again.. lol
Nice wheels you got there though, time to make it your own.

Looks really good from the pics! Tires look decent. Love Roadsters. I think you got a keeper!

And welcome back!

Way to go Joe, of course you never left, being family though. Will we see it at Canaan Village?

Yeah, I guess I can't come back if I never left. I'm not going to make Canaan village this year, I haven't even ridden this bike around the block yet.
