To be honest she isn't being ridden much at all these days as I leave very early and don't like disturbing the peace of my beautiful "hidden valley" neighborhood, so I tend to take TBob out on the mornings I'm not on my Rayvolt. But Nyx is too much fun to sit unloved. Think it's time for her to find the next person to truly appreciate everything she offers.

I've taken her in a cafe racer kind of direction. Have a Ducati style 900SS half fairing being made up. Trimmed some of the side covers and tidied the tail. She's back in pieces again at the moment with bits being painted. But getting closer.

All the best Trace,

Indeed! Lucky she'll be more my showpony than my daily commuter.

Thanks guys for all the kind words.

I am well! Still living with regular bloods and scans to keep an eye on the cancer, but it's been two years now off treatment and life is good. My energy levels are back, the pain's manageable and the brain fog has faded: the immunotherapy appears to have done it's job! (Science is a wonderful thing!) The lymphoedema still prevents me from enjoying full days on the bikes the way I used to; a couple of hours is my limit now, but I'm alive and kicking and enjoying life. Can't ask for more than that

I am thinking of selling Nyx though. Muse is getting closer to being done and I have my eye on a 59 Triumph Bonneville T120, but that's going to require selling something
Congrats on the job and glad to hear you are doing well.

What is this bike selling thing you speak of?

Actually, I managed to sell a bike this summer, a 2005 BMW F650GS that I acquired a year ago. Only rode it two or three times so I was not attached to it. It was replaced with a 2016 BMW R1200GSA which I have several thousand miles on since late August

I can't quite believe how quickly time is running away of late... everything that felt like yesterday was actually a few months ago now it seems...
So anyway, late last year (feels like a couple of weeks ago), I got Nyx serviced by Fred at Procycle Dyno and got him to run her up on the dyno to check on her tune. He did some fine-tuning and was really happy with how she was running. Me too!

Since then we've had a very wet summer; it particularly seems to love to rain on my days off But in between it all I got Nyx completely detailed and into showroom nick so that she looks as pretty as she runs. The rains then decided not to leave for Autumn but instead dump over 40 inches in a week and create significant flooding taking out (literally) many of my local access roads as well as my favourite rides *sigh*. But at least my home was high and dry unlike so many other unfortunate souls; my generator got a workout and my storm supplies put to good use.

Anyhow, long story short, and back to Nyx; I figured I should take some pics while she was tidy and while the sun was actually deciding to grace us with its presence.

Thanks Rejean... obviously I am in agreement with you on that point. Hard to think it's been nearly 15 years since I first threw my leg over her.

August 2007, fresh from her shipping crate.

, Yea! Trace is back!!!!! Puts a huge smile on my face when you check back in, thank you. And yes a quandary with several bikes, on I may have to deal with this year.
So glad health issues aren’t progressing and to be happy in a job...icing on the cake! We’re climbing out of our winter so may do away with the heated gear for a bit. I had some custom heating elements installed into a pair of my winter gloves and combined with my jacket liner and socks I was toasty warm even running at 0F temps. Something I’ve never experienced before.
Cyber hugs sent for you and the pups!!!
