Tried with new plugs and didn’t work. It started for only a few seconds twice but died short after. Then my battery kept dying after trying to start it so much so I would have to recharge it. I did the process 3 or 4 times. Never stayed on

DANG IT, thought that would be an easy one.

Checked the battery yet?
How old is it?
Lead acid? If so, got water in the cells? Any way to check the electrolyte in each cell?

Put a meter on the battery terminals while cranking and let us know what ya got.

Soooo, since you have a meter,,,,, check the resistance in the ignition coil.
Unhook wires, make sure small wires don't touch and ignition is off,,,, even better, disconnect the battery, to be extra safe.
Remove spark plug wires and check between the towers(secondary winding's), then check between the small terminals(primary winding's).
Primary should be 4.7 to 5.7 OHMs, secondary should be 16K to 20K OHMs for a stock ignition coil..

Sounds like you may have a coil or a battery going bonkers.

I still think the timing, or the points are bad. Did you change the points? Many recommend dressing the points- but I've never had success that way-

before I'd do ANYTHING else, I'd put in new points and condensor

and after you put in new points- and have them set properly- you will need to recheck your time.

Bought a new coil but won’t get it until next week. The one that’s on my bike is the OG one from back in the day, it should probably be retired. My bike fired up 3 days ago and ran really good, but only brought it down the street and back. Next day I took it further but it died when I really cranked the throttle in 4th and got to high rpms. When I rolled to a stop i tried to start it ago and it would fire but die after two seconds and then never ran again.
