The above pic of the carb you received, it looks like the top of the enrichener plunger is bent.

Do you not have the manifold that connects the carb to the heads? You’ll need that no matter what carb you want to run. This piece...

For the mikuni, yes, it’s a spigot mount. The “spigot” you want is a khs-004. I got mine on amazon.

Before you pull the trigger on the mikuni, you need to know that there are not many air filter set ups to choose from for them. K&N makes one that is a direct mount, but the best option (when you can find one) is a branch flowmetrics backing plate with the original oval air cleaner cover. It’s basically a hot rod piece that was designed by Jerry branch for this specific carb that he was also credited with setting up for sportsters. Check ebay, they show up from time to time. You’ll also want a custom throttle cable from Barnett.

Yeah I have the manifold..need a spacer n yes I'm returning this carb..dont like the bent piece n it's a little bigger than mine...will do on pulling the trigger on that vm38

I'm leaning to that but also there's an air filter issue w that...as far as getting one, so I'm not sure what to do at this point...
